On June 12, 2026, ILR Dean Alex Colvin sent me a nice letter: Based on a vote of the faculty of the Department of Economics, I was recommended to be appointed to the title of Research Professor effective July 1, 2026. And thus I am.

In case this seems strange to folks, my title previously (and since I joined Cornell back in 2007) was Senior Research Associate. The title of Research Professor didn’t exist at ILR until 2021 (link).
