Open Science and Reproducibility in Practice, in the context of Research Data Centers (RDCs)
Objectives
The presentation will raise awareness among RDC leadership about the importance of reproducibility, particularly for work with access-restricted data.
- How do reproducibility checks work in practice?
- What requirements do journals have?
- How can these requirements be met with access-restricted data?
Additionally,
- Guidance on standards or processes that can be established by RDCs
Background
The FDI Committee is a dynamic, decentralized network of research data centers (RDCs). Its central task is to ensure long-term security of research data infrastructure in Germany and continuously improve it, particularly through better data availability, quality enhancement, and facilitating data access for researchers.
The FDI Committee currently represents 39 research data centers (RDCs) accredited by the Rat für Sozial- und Wirtschaftsdaten (RatSWD). Members represent a broad spectrum of sensitive, i.e., access-restricted research data from both the social and economic sciences, as well as from German public administration. Data provision is decentralized across the various RDCs.
